We would like to invite you to a seminar on Whole Blood which will include an overview of the on-going IBTS Whole Blood Project by Áine Fitzpatrick and “Whole blood: Experiences from pre-hospital and in-hospital transfusions” by Einar K. Kristoffersen. Áine Fitzpatrick has a background in Blood Components and Product Development and is now Chief Medical Scientist in Components and Despatch, MRTC. She is leading the IBTS validation of Whole Blood for use in trauma and massive haemorrhage. Einar K. Kristoffersen is the Head of Department in Haukeland University Hospital, Norway and was responsible for the introduction of whole blood there. He is also professor at the University of Bergen.
