Medical Higher Specialist Training RCPI

Medical Higher Specialist Training.

The IBTS centres, in Dublin and Cork, are Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (RCPI) accredited training sites, for Medical Higher Specialist Training.

Specialist Registrars enrolled on the training program in Clinical & Laboratory Haematology, spend 3 months at a time at either centre.

The program enables the trainees to understand Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine practice in a Blood Establishment.

The three month rotation is credited towards the 5 years required for Certification of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST), which they are awarded enabling them to apply for Consultant Haematologist positions.
