ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a condition in which there is an increased tendency for blood clots to form. It is often inherited and may be discovered through family screening studies.  Not all people with a thrombophilic condition will suffer from blood clots. Examples of inherited thrombophilic conditions include Factor V Leiden, Protein C deficiency, Protein S deficiency and Anti-thrombin III deficiency.
