TETANUS IMMUNISATION

ACCEPT:

If donor was not exposed i.e. prophylactic tetanus toxoid immunization only or a tetanus toxoid booster
If treated with single dose anti-tetanus immunoglobulin (intra-muscular) and more than 4 weeks from exposure.

DEFER:

For 4 weeks after passive immunisation with Human Tetanus Immunoglobulin (i.e. administered after exposure to a tetanus risk injury) once the injury is fully healed.
