ACCEPT
- If has benign prostatic problems, if not requiring treatment, or only taking alpha blockers to relieve symptoms
- If Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) levels are being monitored, but no specialist resulted in no treatment and the donor was referred back to his GP for monitoring
- referral to a specialist, biopsy or other treatment is planned or if referral to a
DEFER
- If currently taking anti-androgens such as Dutasteride (Avodart or Combodart) or Proscar
- If Dutasteride (Avodart or Combodart) has been taken in the last 6 months
- If Finasteride (Proscar) has been taken in the last 4 weeks
PERMANENTLY EXCLUDE
- If has/had a malignancy
- If has an indwelling catheter or self-catheterizes
