NOTES
Donors who were not exposed, who had non-live (killed) immunisations, other than hepatitis B and Covid-19 vaccines, if well on the day, they can be accepted to donate. Donors who have had Hepatitis B vaccination should be deferred for 28 days thereafter if there has been no known exposure. This is because some sensitive assays for HbsAg may test positive following recent administration of vaccine. If they were exposed a minimum deferral of 4 months post exposure is required. Covid-19 vaccine: see table and IBTS/MED/GDE/0011. All live vaccines have a deferral period of 8 weeks
ACCEPT:
- After deferral period if symptom-free
SEE IF RELEVANT
- Specific conditions/vaccine table (3.11 Deferral times for vaccine administration)
