This practice involves the use of needles but not acupuncture points. The condition for which the treatment is being received must be acceptable

ACCEPT:

If it has been performed by:

• A Medical Practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council, or
• By a Registered General Nurse registered with the NMBI working for a Medical Practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council or
• By a Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists

DEFER:

• For 4 months from date of last treatment if it was performed by anyone other than listed above
