DEFER:

• If the donor has needed treatment to suppress the condition in the last 12 months, such as with steroids, immunosuppressant drugs, antimetabolites, antibodies directed against parts of the immune system, as well as other therapies such as PUVA (psoralen plus ultraviolet A).

PERMANENTLY EXCLUDE:

• Individuals with active or multi-system (affecting more than one organ system) disease
• If the cardiovascular system is or was involved.
