ACCEPT:

• If the asthma is mild and asymptomatic at the time of donation even if taking regular preventative treatment i.e. inhalers or Singulair (Montelukast).

 DEFER:

• If donor is symptomatic on the day of donation (wheezy or short of breath)
• For 7 days from date of completion of a course of steroids
• For 2 weeks from date of recovery from a chest infection.
