NOTES

A certain level of anxiety about donating is common among some donors. However, donors that are extremely nervous or anxious about donating may be more likely to faint during donation.

ACCEPT:

  • As long as the person is asymptomatic on the day of donation, even if being treated with anti-anxiety medication
  • A history of panic attacks as long as the person is well on the day.

DEFER:

  • Donors prescribed sodium valporate (epilim).
