ACCEPT:
- If it is not related to malignancy or its treatment
- If donor is not on treatment or is on topical treatment only
- If it is not part of a multi systemic auto-immune disease
DEFER:
- For 7 days from last dose of oral anti-fungal treatment
- For 4 weeks from last dose if donor has taken Finasteride (Propecia / Proscar)
- For 6 months from last dose if the donor has taken Dutasteride (Avodart)
PERMANENTLY EXCLUDE:
- If alopecia is a consequence or side effect of malignancy
- If alopecia is an auto-immune disease / condition that is multi systemic

- AUTO-IMMUNE DISEASE
- CANCER
- SURGERY - for hair-transplant/hair plugs
- INFECTION - for systemic anti-fungal treatment
- STEROID THERAPY - for injected or oral steroid treatment
- COMBODART
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Dutasteride and finasteride can cause abnormal development of a foetus, particularly the sex organs. These drugs can remain in the blood even after treatment has stopped and therefore it is unsafe for a potential recipient, particularly pregnant women
