NOTES
The condition for which acupuncture treatment is being received must be acceptable
ACCEPT:
- If performed by a Medical Practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council, or If performed a Registered Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) working for a Medical Practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council
- If performed by a Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists
- A donor can be accepted on the same day that acupuncture was performed as long as the above criteria apply and no other reason for deferral applies
DEFER:
- For 4 months after most recent treatment, if not performed by a health professional
