The National Donor Screening Laboratory encompasses the three donor testing laboratories: Automated Donor Grouping (ADG), Virology (VIR), and Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT).

We are the Blood Establishment for Ireland with responsibility to manufacture and supply blood products and blood components nationwide

We provide extended blood antigen and antibody testing, genetic typing and clinical interpretation to support heamatology patients, pregnant women and transfusion and transplant donors & recipients.

We provide clinical advice and guidance on transfusion medicine and transfusion science related matters

The haemovigilance programme supports the identification of unexpected or undesirable effects of transfusion of blood components

The Quality Department is responsible for ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Laboratory Practice and regulatory requirements are met and best practice is achieved.
