NOTES

It is recommended that prophylactic antibiotics should be used post splenectomy. Donations should only be accepted if the donor has been shown to have residual splenic function and is not on prophylactic antibiotics

PERMANENTLY EXCLUDE: 

• If on prophylactic antibiotics 
• Even if not on prophylactic antibiotics unless it is shown that the donor has residual splenic function
