ACCEPT:

  • If donor had AND has not required anti-convulsant therapy in the last 3 years AND has not had lost consciousness in the last 3 years

PERMANENTLY EXCLUDE:

  • If donor has been diagnosed with Petit Mal and is on prescribed medication

Petit Mal (Absence seizure) is (from the French for "little illness", a term dating from the late 18th century).Petit Mal is characterized by a brief loss and return of consciousness, generally not followed by a period of lethargy (i.e. without a notable postictal state). Petit Mal is very common in children
