ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Neurofibromatosis is an inherited condition that causes tumours on nerve tissue. The tumours are not usually malignant but can occasionally become so. If the tumours are in the brain, symptoms may include epilepsy. The donor should be questioned to determine if there has been any malignant change and/or serious complications which will both lead to permanent exclusion to protect the donor’s safety
