Donor with Symptoms of or Suggestive of COVID-19:

DEFER

• For 7 days from *full recovery if they had confirmed/suspected COVID-19 even if they did not seek medical advice or antigen or PCR test was negative.

Contact with Confirmed/Suspected Case of COVID-19 :

ACCEPT

• If the donor is well and asymptomatic.

Recovery from COVID–19:

DEFER

• For 7 days from *full recovery if the donor had laboratory confirmed COVID-19 or a clinical diagnosis was made by their GP or Consultant.
• If the donor was hospitalised with Covid-19 and seek consent to contact GP/ Consultant.
• If a donor has recovered from COVID-19 but suffered from cardiovascular symptoms (i.e. chest pain, palpitations, syncope, severe breathlessness, ankle oedema) and seek consent to contact GP/ Consultant.
• For a minimum of 6 months from full recovery if a donor suffered from Long Covid.

PERMANENTLY EXCLUDE

• if a donor has symptoms, particularly if they may be cardiac in nature. If appropriate, a letter can be written to the donor’s GP / Consultant to clarify the nature of the symptoms.
