NOTES

Individuals participating in clinical trails involving the taking of drugs or the insertion of needles, or other instruments through the skin, should be deferred while participating in the trial. This applies also to healthy individuals participating as volunteers- for example in 'phase 1' clinical trails

ACCEPT:

• 4 weeks after the completion of the medication, if they are well and follow-up has been completed

DEFER:

• For 4 weeks from end of clinical trial that involved taking drugs or medications

• For 4 months from end of clinical trial that involved penetration of the skin through insertion of needles or other instruments
• If underlying reason for participating in clinical trial is a deferral. Apply relevant deferral code
