ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

No more than 15% of the estimated blood volume shall be taken during one blood donation

A standard donation of 470mls plus samples can be taken from donors who are 50 kg (7st 12lbs) or more

However, body-weight estimation becomes critical and sometimes complicated in the case of persons who are devoid of a limb or a part of a limb usually due to amputation or congenital defects

If gangrene was not related to diabetes or peripheral vascular disease (e.g. it was due to hypothermia or meningococcal meningitis) and all wounds are fully healed, even if amputation was required, accept. JPAC (under DIABETES)
