WHOLE BLOOD

• A minimum age of 18 years is required.
• Accept new donors up to but not including their 65th birthday.
• Accept donors from their 65th birthday up to but not including their 70th birthday (once they donated in the last 10 years).
• Accept donors who are 70 years (i.e. who have had their 70th birthday) and over up to but not including their 80th birthday
• if they have donated in the last 24 months and did not suffer an adverse reaction. 
• A certificate is required on an annual basis from their GP. The certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of issue

APHERESIS

• A minimum age of 18 years is required.
• The maximum age for a new apheresis donor is 59 years i.e. up to but not including the 60th birthday.
• The maximum age for an apheresis donor is 66 years i.e. up to but not including the 67th birthday.
