NOTES

Including acid reflux, gastritis, gastro-oesophageal reflux disorder (GORD), heartburn, hiatus hernia and indigestion

ACCEPT:

• If symptoms are relieved by regular or sporadic use of medication (e.g. antacids, H2 receptor antagonists and proton pump inhibitors)
• Acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion, gastritis, hiatus hernia,  gastro - esophageal reflux disorder (GORD) - once symptoms relieved by regular or sporadic use of medication as above 

 DEFER:

• If medication does not relieve symptoms

• Defer if waiting for investigations or the results of investigations

• For 4 months from date of endoscopy

• ENDOSCOPY
• PEPTIC ULCER

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If the cause of the symptoms is not known and the donor is waiting for investigations or the results of investigations, donor must be deferred because the underlying cause may be a deferral and may compromise donor and / or recipient safety
