ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

An unhealed wound or infected wound is a risk for bacteria entering the blood. Bacteria can be a serious threat to a patient who receives blood or blood components, as bacteria can multiply to dangerous levels in blood after collection

A plaster cast could hide an open or infected wound. It could also make a donor less able to protect themselves in the case of a faint, as could the use of crutches
